C- Section Lingerie
Making Mums Matter
Brief- to create a lineup of 6 different outfits and construct our chosen hero outfit.
With the consideration of UN SDGS, I chose to create lingerie for women who have just undergone a c- section. From this, I developed my designs and incorporated a nursing bra into my sets. In order to make my product reach its USP I chose to create reusable milk pads that would come with each set that the customer b. These would be made out of scrap fabric left over from my final fabric choice which aligns with SDG 12, Responsible Consumption.
The gusset of the knicker is bagged out which would be made from bamboo to align with LOUNGES' current fabric choices which are printed with their logo design all over. The gusset is bagged out so there is no irritation on the c-section scar.
The nursing bra has a magnetic fastening so the bra doesn't look any different from other brands on the market and women can still look and feel sexy after birth without feeling like they have to wear the typical 'plain, nursing clipped' bra.
Adhering to the United Nations' sustainability goals, I chose to base my theme on Italian architecture in Venice and considered the current issue of rising sea levels and the effect it has had on the city.
